At long last The Rantcor Pit has returned!

 

Fresh off of two creature-centric episodes of the live show, Cole Houston and Eddie Medina take a trip to the forest moon of Endor to check out the Ewoks!

 

While about as equally hated as they are loved by Star Wars fans, these fuzzy fighters are an integral part of the Saga.  From the plight of their home after the invasion of the Empire and its second Death Star to the curious adventures that were the stuff of television movies, the Ewoks have had a long history in the Star Wars Universe.

Hey Kids, Comics! #145 - Where Does He Get Those Wonderful Toys?; Vehicular

From the portable to the wearable and beyond, "Where Does He Get Those Wonderful Toys?" has been quite the journey thus far.  This week Andrew Farmer and Cole Houston buckle up for the latest installment of the current story arc.  This issue is all about the vehicles from fill-in-the-blank-mobiles to some of the most unique conveyances in comics.

Is a helicopter shaped like a crescent moon a good idea?  Is it worse than a conversion van crammed full of equipment and a motorcycle?  How about an airship that invokes an animal shape or form?

While these are not actual questions directly posed in so many words, they are certainly part of the flavor of this "vehicular" episode.

Hey Kids, Comics! #144 - Where Does He Get Those Wonderful Toys?: Military Grade

Andrew Farmer and Cole Houston have reached the mid-point with the latest story arc and this one is a doozy!  

As your hosts explore all of the various gadgets, weapons, and enhancements that heroes and villains alike bring to the fight, their focus now turns to those characters who's "toys" would be the envy of any army in the world.  In some cases they are the ordinance of an army!

The latest story arc of Hey Kids, Comics! continues with a look at "those wonderful toys" utilized by heroes and villains alike!  This week Andrew Farmer and Cole Houston rummage through a heroic wardrobe of super-suits that have lent those who don them incredible powers.  

From the brilliant to the laughable, the world-famous to the obscure, clothes can truly define one if they give you that extra edge when taking what you want or taking back our streets!  What will your hosts conjure up in for this particular subject?  What is up with the Spider-Man villain Scorpion?  Which character unexpectedly makes the cut?  And what kinds of cool toys can one build right into their working attire?

Hey Kids, Comics! #142 - Where Does He Get Those Wonderful Toys?: Handheld

We are running a bit late again but the latest Hey Kids, Comics!  has arrived.

Andrew Farmer and Cole Houston take on another great story arc, this time all about weapons, gadgets, and other accouterments of super-heroes and villains.  

In this opening issue of the arc, the smaller devices are explored, as well as a few larger ones that lend themselves to being carried or held.  From icons like Captain America's shield to the trademark weapons of a quartet of turtles, many are the devices and weaponry that are synonymous with various comic book favorites.  Within the constraints of an hour, your hosts try to tackle as many as possible!

Hey Kids, Comics! #141 - Secret Agent Man

The mountain lion hunts by the light of the full moon.

While that may mean absolutely nothing to most, it may mean something to the espionage community which may wind up having the JCU wind up on a list somewhere.  The purpose of this is to set up this week's issue of Hey Kids, Comics! in which hosts Andrew Farmer and Cole Houston explore the world of spies and secret agencies.  

From the obvious like S.H.I.E.L.D. to the obscure anagram-themed organizations, there was far more subject matter to explore than time allowed.  None the less this show brings you what is declassified in the world of intrigue!

None the less, you may want to keep this one to yourself.

Hey Kids, Comics! #140 - What We Talk About When We Talk About Daredevil (Part 2)

Cole Houston and Eddie Medina expand the Star Wars universe with a nod to Dirty Jobs as they explore what professions in that galaxy far, far away may exist.  From street cleaners on Tattooine who have to follow rontos and dewbacks around to a highly specialized type of Stormtrooper, this one has it all.  Letting their imaginations rule the day, your hosts have come up with some pretty amazing jobs that are not for the weak of constitution.  Especially those in Jabba's palace.
