After some serious technical problems, The Rantcor Pit is up and running!  

 

This time Cole Houston and Eddie Medina go back to the toy box to talk about the top five contemporary Star Wars action figures.  With every single figure from 1995 to 2015 in the mix, that proved to be a daunting challenge!

Hey Kids, Comics! #151 - HKC! Team-Up #7: The Outsiders

AKA "Batman and", The Outsiders was one of the more unique and interesting team books ever published by DC Comics.  Not solely because the title changed when its flagship character left the team, either!  

Andrew Farmer and Cole Houston set their sights on yet another super-hero group as they explore the particular team, its often changing membership roster, and the curious nature of a rather free-wheeling band of crime fighters.  From the various reasons Batman why Batman was written out of the series to the various incarnations of this team, many are the observations and insights provided in the latest issue of the show!

The Rantcor Pit #40 - Collect All 10!

The Rantcor Pit is back and this time we are going to start toying around for a while!

 

More specifically, hosts Cole Houston and Eddie Medina are launching a three part series on their favorite Star Wars toys!  To kick things off, this episode concentrates on the original Kenner lines from 1977 to 1985.  Only action figures are included and both Cole and Eddie are limited to five top picks. 

 

While some are among the obvious favorites, there are many surprises as well.  With nearly 100 figures to choose from, it was quite the challenge for both.  Nearly 100 minus one as Hammerhead was taken out of the mix due to being the focus of last week's The Rantcor Pit Live!  None the less, finding a mere ten action figures to praise as the best proved tricky, but not impossible.  Were there favorites among your own?

Hey Kids, Comics! #150 - The Best Comics WE Ever Read

Another milestone has been reached for Hey Kids, Comics! as our sesquicentennial issue is presented at last!

Following a two week hiatus, a much more refreshed and healthy Andrew Farmer and Cole "JediCole" Houston celebrate 150 amazing issues of this show with a look at a few of the comics that impressed them most over the years.  A follow up to the first annual for this show and a precursor to an upcoming new show that will allow a number of comic book fans to weigh in on the same topic, this episode brings you several of the best comics ever read by the folks who bring you this show year after year.

From a pair of Batman stories to an 80s story arc from Captain America that was so bad it was good, there was plenty to talk about when waxing memorable about the comics of the past.

Hey Kids, Comics! #147 - The Kids Are All Right

This issue of Hey Kids, Comics! is, in the words of Mr. T, "For the kids!"  At least in a literal sense it is as Andrew Farmer and Cole Houston set their sights on the portrayal of the child super-hero in comics.  From the more high profile sidekicks like Wonder Girl or Bucky to the the all-minors team known as Power Pack, over the decades many a young kid has suited up to tackle crime in costume.

How does this dynamic work and why?  Where does Bruce Wayne get off running his own villain cannon-fodder training ground?  What's up with absentee parents and equestrian aliens tossing super powers around like so much candy from strangers?

Okay, its not THAT bad, but there are some interesting observations made this outing.  As well as some trademark lowbrow humor.
