Welcome to a new story arc of Hey Kids, Comics! that returns to our roots and our first story arc!

This podcast was launched with Comic Shop Confidential, an in-depth exploration of various aspects of comic book lore and fandom.  In this case we go back to our "origin story" and examine the nature of hardcore fanboys and how opinion can sometimes be taken to ridiculous extremes.  

Rick Gutierrez of The United States of Geekdom joins the discussion on how best to love what you love without expecting your fandom to be a microcosm of all fandom.

The Rantcor Pit #14 - A Universe of Their Own

With the dissolution of the Expanded Universe, Star Wars will seemingly lose an important part of its history, the one place where female characters were nearly as prevalent as male!   

On the third episode of The Rantcor Pit Live Cole and Eddie talked about the lack of female characters in Star Wars, especially the original trilogy.  This is explored further on this episode as we are joined by Mrs. JediCole for more discussion about the women of Star Wars, most of whom are found in the Expanded Universe it would seem.

And  you finally get to hear the promised telling of the Shmi Skywalker story!

Hey Kids, Comics! #88 - Wedding Bells

Love is in the air with the latest (and we realize rather delayed) issue of Hey Kids, Comics!  When you listen you will appreciate that it was worth the wait!  Especially when you get to hear a number of guests share their thoughts on marriage in comics.

Andrew Farmer and Cole Houston officiate this delightful exploration of super-nuptials with their "wedding guests" Jason, Bobby, Brianna, Rick, Catherine, Colleen, and Eddie.  There is a special "reception" of sorts after the ceremonies conclude.
